Gratitude 16: I am thankful for the beautiful earth, and the stewards who celebrate and take care of it.

I'm thinking of 2 people right now.
First, Sir David Attenborough, the voice you are familiar with narrating countless beautiful nature documentaries. He's nearly 100 years old and still going strong, encouraging us to get out there and marvel at this beautiful planet.
And second, my high school friend Brigham Daniels.
For as long as I've known him he has worked on environmental projects. I told him once that it feels like our individual efforts don't make any difference. One person trying to use less water, for example. He said he knows but he just tries to do his part and if a lot of people did that it would make a big difference.
This doesn't have anything to do with environmentalism, but some of you reading this might know Brigham and how much fun he is to be around. So I'll share this little exchange. I invited him to lunch not too long ago and jokingly said, "But this time you have to wear pants!" His genius response was, "Does paint count as pants?" He's very good at making me laugh.
Attaching a photo of my family at the top of El Yunque in Puerto Rico, the only tropical rainforest in the US. We had so much fun hiking there.
